Ten Years from now : 8 Aug 2026 ==> 8 Aug 2036
Our future
Two very important fundamental questions to start the transformation phase :
- What kind of life do I no longer want?
- What kind of person and future do I want to create?
Deep soul searching of what are your dreams and purpose ahead.
A complete Ten-Year Transformation journey
- Awakening — I must change, I must change fast. I MUST transform myself.
- Clarity — What future do I want, and what life do I reject? I am given a chance to be reborn. I must be strong to add challenges into my life ahead.
- Inspiration — What future do I want to create? I must dream courageously, discover my purpose and create a clear vision of the person and life I want by 2036.
- Identity — Who must I become? What skills should I learn and master? I must find every minute to develop a brand new me.
- Direction — What must I build or change? One year has 12 months, 1 month has about 30 days. And 1 day has 24 hours. I must accomplish my daily routine effectively and spend time pursuing my transformational journey.
- Discipline — What actions must I repeat consistently? Can I train myself consistently enough to achieve my transformation?
- Review — Am I growing, am I learning new skills? Am I heading towards my goals?
Phase 1 — Awakening: The intention to transform
The person recognises:
- I am going to transform my future no matter how difficult it is going to be.
- Ten years is enough time to transform.
- Nobody else can do it for me.
- I must choose to begin.
The output of this phase should be a personal declaration:
“For the next ten years, I choose to take responsibility for the person I become.”
Phase 2 — Clarity: Know what you do not want
Many people cannot immediately describe their dream life, but they can clearly identify what they no longer want.
The Life I Refuse to Continue.
Reach deeply and complete these sentences:
- I no longer want to feel…
- I no longer want to depend on…
- I no longer want my health to…
- I no longer want money to…
- I no longer want to spend my time…
- I no longer want my relationships to…
- I do not want to reach 2036 and regret…
- If nothing changes, my life in ten years will become....
“You cannot design a new life while refusing to confront the life you no longer want.”
The purpose is not to make people feel miserable. It creates urgency and honesty.
Phase 3 — Inspiration: Create the future you want
Ten-year vision into important areas:
| Life area | Ten-year question |
|---|---|
| Health | How do I want to look, feel and move in 2036? |
| Family | What relationships do I want with my family? |
| Financial | How much security, income and freedom do I want? |
| Career or business | What meaningful work do I want to create? |
| Learning | What knowledge and abilities do I want to master? |
| Lifestyle | Where and how do I want to live? |
| Contribution | Who will benefit because I lived well? |
| Character | What kind of person do I want to become? |
8 August 2036
10 years from now, where will you be? How many goals on your to do list have you completed?
Have you transformed yourself into the person you want to be?
Phase 4 — Identity: Decide who you must become
“Who must I become to achieve it?” I must become strong both mentally and physically. I need both to achieve my transformation.
| Goal | Required identity |
|---|---|
| Become financially independent | A disciplined investor and thoughtful spender |
| Become healthy and stronger | A person who exercises and eats deliberately |
| Build a successful business | A consistent creator and responsible leader |
| Develop strong family relationships | A patient, present and dependable family member |
| Master a new skill | A lifelong student who practises regularly |
The person then completes:
- The future version of me believes…
- The future version of me does…
- The future version of me no longer tolerates…
- The future version of me protects…
- The future version of me is known for…
“Your goals require more than a better plan; they require a stronger version of you.”
Phase 5 — Direction: Convert ten years into smaller horizons
A ten-year goal is inspiring but too distant for daily action. Break it down:
| Horizon | Purpose |
|---|---|
| 10 years | The life and person I want to create |
| 3 years | The major position I must reach |
| 1 year | The most important measurable progress |
| 90 days | The current transformation project |
| This week | The actions that move it forward |
| Today | The smallest promise I must keep |
For each life area, ask:
- Where am I today?
- Where do I want to be in ten years?
- What is the gap?
- What must happen during the next three years?
- What is the most important first-year milestone?
- What can I begin during the next 90 days?
“Ten years changes your destination, but today’s actions determine your direction.”
Phase 6 — Discipline: Build systems and habits
Goals state the destination. Systems create the repeated behaviour needed to reach it.
Every goal should have:
- A small daily or weekly action
- A scheduled time
- A way to measure progress
- A minimum standard for difficult days
- A recovery rule after failure
For example:
| Goal | System |
|---|---|
| Improve health | Exercise three times weekly and track weight monthly |
| Build wealth | Automatically invest a fixed amount every month |
| Learn a skill | Study one hour daily and complete one project quarterly |
| Build a business | Produce one meaningful customer-facing result weekly |
| Strengthen relationships | Protect regular, distraction-free family time |
“Transformation is not one heroic decision. It is a promise kept repeatedly.”
Phase 7 — Review: Correct the journey continuously
Ten-year transformation cannot be planned perfectly at the beginning. Circumstances, opportunities and priorities will change.
Use three review levels:
- Weekly: Did I perform my important actions?
- Every 90 days: Am I producing meaningful progress?
- Yearly: Is this still the future I genuinely want?
The annual review should ask:
- What changed in me this year?
- What did I achieve?
- What did I avoid?
- What repeatedly distracted me?
- What should I stop, start and continue?
- What deserves greater focus next year?
- Am I closer to my desired identity?
- What would make the coming year meaningful?
“A plan gives you direction; reflection prevents you from spending ten years travelling in the wrong direction.”
